Introducing Langdale Church

Our History

Since 1971 people have been meeting in Langdale Church to worship God, learn from the Bible and share the good news of Jesus with others. It was initially born out of a small prayer group that met in Marina Drive which, as it grew, felt called to be a Christian presence on the new Laing Housing Estate. Twelve years after the prayer group began, a new building was acquired as the home of what would later become Langdale Church with much assistance from Sir John Laing himself. From that day until this, Langdale Church has had its identity firmly rooted in being a light for Christ in the midst of our town.

Our Vision

We believe that the gospel can make a real difference to people's lives. Every single one of us was created to know God personally but, through our own rebellion, we've rejected him to live our own way. We want to show people that life in all its fullness is life lived with God back at the centre. By receiving God's forgiveness and reconciliation, we can know true freedom and our true purpose too. The Bible is at the heart of our church, teaching us to be disciples of Christ in the world. Through it we can know the lengths Jesus went to rescue us from our own mess and what it means to follow him as regenerated people. The Holy Spirit is our Comforter who by grace can transform us into the likeness of the Son and by whom we are building a community of love and faith to serve Christ. But we don't just want to build God's kingdom within our four walls. We are committed to sharing the goodness of Jesus Christ in Dunstable and, through our mission partners, across the world so that all can have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel and know the transforming love of God for themselves.

Our Family

Langdale is made up of all sorts of people from a variety of different backgrounds. What unites us is our love for Christ and our desire to make him known in our community. We meet every Sunday morning at 10:30 for a service open to all the family, with classes for the younger members and a creche on hand for the littlest ones. Everyone is welcome to join us regardless of what you believe. We open our doors to all sorts of community activities during the week including Mums & Tots during term time. Come and say hello whenever you pass by.
